| Description: |
This was the
last version of ImOrca.nu, when ImOrca.com was already online. It
ended up being just a placeholder until the registration expired.
It was part of the Mizuno Ami theme across domains. Font:

started on .NU and moved over to .COM, so spent time in both places.
It features an art print I bought by Meredith Dillman. Font:

Manga Megumi |
| Description: |
Featuring
Megumi from the Cheeky Angel manga. I absolutely loved this
layout. I was especially happy with the monochromatic grays and how it
turned out. It was up a very long time. Front was something I seem to
have lost when I had to get my hard drive replaced. |

Effervescent Love |
| Description: |
The image was edited
from a screen shot of the movie Romeo + Juliet. I loved the
colors and style of the movie so much. I experimented with a table
navigation for this one. I'd
seen it done with a top/horizontal image bar before, but not really with
a left/vertical image bar, so I took a shot. Font was possibly Curled
Serif, or something close. This was the first time I used php coding on
the domain layout. |

Little Wings |
| Description: |
The image
for this came out of a collage of images in a GM ad. She was just so
cute that I edited her. I have a big soft spot for wings, and I can't
resist them in images. She seemed a good holiday, beginning of the new
year image. Font was Carpenter. |

Squashed |
| Description: |
From one of
my worst to what I think is one of my best. It featured my original
digital rendering of a pumpkin. I loved it, and still do. The screen
display was brighter than the screenshot, honestly. Font was Bernhard
Fashion, one of my all time favorite fonts. Very art deco. |

Tiny Knickers |
| Description: |
This was a
very wretched layout featuring a screenshot from Bridget Jones' Diary.
I never liked it, but it was up for freakin' ever because I got buried
IRL. I almost didn't put it up because I disliked it so much. I can't
believe that I thought this was better than leaving it without a new
layout. Sigh. |

None |
| Description: |
This is the closest the
ImOrca.nu ever came to hiatus. I just put up a table with all the
links. As plain as plain could be. Perhaps this and the next one are
more to bear witness to a really tough time in real life when I couldn't
design. The numbering got weird after this, b/c I didn't skip 21 in the
version numbers. |

A very
simple layout for the holiday season inspired by a CD I purchased. It
was a funny lounge lizard CD with smooth jazz versions of Christmas
favorites. Not fancy, just fabulous, hee hee! I think the font may have
been Futura. |

The Dress |
| Description: |
Again, I
was happy with this one. It's the only Buffy the Vampire Slayer
layout I've ever done, and it really didn't feature Buffy ^_^. It
features a screenshot of Buffy's dress for the big dance from the final
episode of season 1. It also featured a poem I found while surfing.
When I searched for it, I searched for a poem about a dress. The 1st
stanza of the poem was perfect, but when I read on it turned out to be
from a lesbian dominant/submissive. Pretty surprising. Eek! Font is
possibly Shelly Allegro. |

More Broccoli? |
| Description: |
Of
course, this layout features screen shots Kronk from The Emporer's
New Groove. It's my only Dinsney layout. The guy is so funny. "He
does his own theme music?" I used an iframe tables layout, with a cute
dashed line border on the cells. "More Broccoli?" is one of my
favorite Kronk lines. I think just Verdana on the font. |

One Year |
| Description: |
The image
on this came from the wrapping on a bouquet of flowers, if you can
believe it. I utilized a tables layout, and a rolling image for the
navigation. I've never done it since. I think this was the first
layout where I had an affiliate. Unfortunately she went away and never
let me know. Not nice. The font was lost somewhere along the line. |

This
layout featured comic scans of Oh My Goddess! It featured Zodiastic
font. I've since recycled this for the Skuld/Kawanishi Sentaro
fanlisting. I just love these two! They are sooo sweet. Highlight
color was pink. Used an iframe and tables layout. |

Drowsy Mouse |
| Description: |
At the
time I did this layout, I was really excited about the new release of
Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, which included Marrill, my homophone
namesake! I had just gotten a Japanese Marrill card with this cute
sleepy image, so I drew a version. I was also visiting a character
shrine call "Marrillicious" at the time, and I was jealous that I
couldn't ever make a Marrill site that good. I think the font is just
Times New Roman. |

Shoujo Bounty |
| Description: |
I'm not
sure what my first anime ever watched was...it was either Record of
Lodoss War or Iria: Zeiram the Animation. I think I caught
a single episode of each when the Sci-Fi channel was running them way
back when. As a result, though, Iria has been one of my favorites ever
since. I just think she's so cool. In fact, these two series were the
whole reason I bought my first DVD player. Anime on DVD was WAY cheaper
than the episodes on VHS. Huh. The splash screen uses a simple
screenshot with an iframe. The index page uses several sets of screen
shots edited and layered together. I was quite proud of that graphic
creation. Font is Bank Gothic. |

Sonnet 119 |
| Description: |
My homage
to "The Bard." The picture is from the same portrait that has hung on
my wall since I went to Europe in 1993. I dragged that thing across
France!!! I was an English Lit major in college, so of course I have a
soft spot. It utilized iframes, and a bottom menu, mostly 'cause I'd
seen a bunch of them around. Not sure the font on this one. It looks
tiny because it was designed for 600x800, but I shot it on a 1024x768
screen. |

The Gift |
| Description: |
This is
still one of my favorite layouts I've ever done. It's based on a
screenshot from the OVA "Tendo Family Christmas Scramble" from Ranma
1/2. It features Kasumi from her opening dream sequence. It was
the first iframe I used, I think. And I was just completely pleased
with the way the snow, and the background of the image turned out. I
also love the color scheme. I believe the font was Daniela and the
snowflake from Webdings. |

Broccoli Bits |
| Description: |
At the
time I did this layout, I was collecting Pretty Samy (of Tenchi Muyo!
fame) trading cards by the Broccoli company. I had also just watched at
Dana Carvey stand-up comedy special where he performed his spoof, "Choppin'
Broccoli." For some reason I thought it might be kinda funny to do a
broccoli themed layout. This was my first tables layout to use a border
image. It took me a heck of a time to figure out how to do it. I also
didn't want to use frames, and I didn't yet know how to use iframes, so
I had a hard time getting the content to fit all into the "content"
cell. One learns from one's experience I suppose. Font may have been
Europa? |

Sword Goddess |
| Description: |
This
version was inspired by the speech given by Jen in the Inn where she
fights all the men in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. At the
time, I was playing a paladin in a Forgotten Realms campaign for
Advanced Dungeons & Dragons 2.0. The speech was pretty fitting for that
character as well. The layout was tables, and featured a different
section from the quotation at the bottom of each page. The image was
taken from an advertisement in the Knights of the Dinner Table
comic for the Dungeons & Dragons comic that was in print at that
time. It doesn't look like much, but it was a layout I feel a real
nostalgia for. It was the first right aligned layout I'd ever done. I
believe the font was Daniela. |

Stars...Stripes |
| Description: |
Version
4.0 didn't stay up long at all, because the 9/11 attacks hit just after
I'd posted it. It felt kind of wrong having a happy shiny layout right
then, so I whipped up a patriotic and very very simple layout that felt
more appropriate. If you read the text on the screen shot, it's
actually pretty interesting. It's what I was thinking right after
9/11. If you can make it out, you'll see the my prediction of my worst
fear...that we'd go to war with an unrelated party and draw the ire of
the world that was then offering its support has come to pass. |

The image for this one
came off a kleenex box, of all things. I just thought it was adorable.
I used a moon and stars theme for a couple of things in this version. I
think the font may have been Garamond. This version used frames,
again. |

Rainy Maine |
| Description: |
This
image came from a magazine advertisement...for what I don't know. It
had been in my file forever. The font was Cooper Black...which I don't
even have on my computer anymore, so the recreated index page doesn't
look as it did originally. It was a pesky frames layout again.
Originally the splash screen and the image frame had a cute little
raindrop java applet which ran, but now with the increased security of
browsers, these don't function anymore. Too bad...'cause the droplets
were cute with the theme. It was inspired by the plans my husband and I
have to someday vacation, and possibly even live, in Maine. We were
fascinated with living in a lighthouse at the time. |

Usagi's in Stitches |
| Description: |
It may be
hard to believe, but I created a really complicated cross-stitch project
JUST to be able to use it in a layout. It was fun, and turned out
beautifully, if I do say so myself. It's based on an
illustration from the Sailormoon Art Infinity book. Though
it was hard to part with, I gave the original as a gift to
Kotetsu.
I believe the font may have been Forgotten Unical or Caligrapher.

Winged Whale |
| Description: |
The very
first domain layout I ever created. It utilized the first transparent
.GIF file I ever created, of a little winged killer whale that I drew.
The font was Courier. I later recycled this layout for a version of my
blog, Shiofuki. This is still one of my favorite layouts ever. It's so
simple, and very reflective of my style. |
